The Life Coaching Process

The Life Coaching Process

I can’t think of anyone who, deep inside, doesn’t want to be their best version of themselves. Can you? Sadly, many of us get derailed from pursuing our best selves somewhere along life’s path. In these times, we can quickly disconnect from our authentic selves, health, happiness, and dreams. When we find ourselves in this situation, we have a good sense of what we needed to do but lack the understanding of how to make the necessary changes and corrections. That’s when finding the right help and guidance makes all the difference.

Making The Most of Your Life

I can’t think of anyone who, deep inside, doesn’t want to be their best version of themselves.  Can you?  Sadly, many of us get derailed from pursuing our best selves somewhere along life’s path. It is in these times that we can quickly disconnect from our authentic selves, health, happiness, and our dreams. When we find ourselves in this situation we have a good sense of what we needed to do but lack the understanding of how to make the necessary changes and corrections. That’s when finding the right help and guidance makes all the difference.

The Challenges of Change

Learning how to navigate the changes, novelties, and uncertainties of life without a guide and map is akin to setting sail alone on the open sea without any experience or destination. It doesn’t take long before you become lost, scared, and are just drifting by. This is not really living – it is surviving. Fortunately, no one is destined to be stuck on survival mode. Every one of us has untapped resources within us to learn, grow, change, and transform ourselves and our relationships. We can thrive.

Change can be overwhelming, especially alone. Part of what makes change and transformation difficult is our complexity. We are both multidimensional and dynamic. And, if that weren’t enough, not only are we learning, remembering, and evolving, we are also discovering how to relate to everything and everyone. That’s a lot to try to understand and work with, especially if you don’t have healthy role models and experiences to rely upon. It is important to note that a state of confusion caused by escalating tension and pressure changes your perception significantly. When chaos is unresolved, a gridlock can occur. Often this presents as chronic stress, anxiety, and depression. These intense and persistent emotions can quickly highjack your vision and sense of self. As a result, a person can become defensive, withdraw, isolate, and feel numb. When this happens, it’s helpful and often necessary to get an outside perspective to assist.

Root Causes

Today it’s easy to be bombarded with information making it difficult to decipher truth from fiction. If that weren’t challenging enough, we often feel pressured to perform to other people’s standards. Our family, culture, and past experiences can cause us to betray our true nature. When you add these realities to different daily life challenges, it is easy to lose sight of who you are and what’s truly meaningful and fulfilling.

Our dreams don’t die quickly. We are naturally filled with desire. Desire is a necessary and vital part of life. The challenge we face, however, is when we set our sights on the big picture without having a full understanding of what it takes, we often end up going down a lot of rabbit holes. Those rabbit holes can unintentionally cause us to get sucked into expecting too much too soon and concluding too quickly. When we expect too much too soon, we can quickly become discouraged and give up on ourselves and our dreams.

Other sources of frustration come from comparing ourselves to others and feeling like an imposter. This can cause us to lose focus on the next step and believe we should be further ahead than we are. Imposter syndrome comes from feeling like we are faking our way through something instead of embracing what is true. Life is full of trial and error. That will not change. How you relate to feedback is critical to being able to most of your life. Just to be clear, that old idiom “fake it till you make it” is not the path to empowerment. Many people wear masks hiding their authentic selves for fear of being seen. Only when you harness the courage to remain aligned to your integrity and accepting of who you are is that you discover how to access your courage, grit, and follow-through.

Transformation

Transformation is an inside job. No one can do it for you. The requirements are simple – be curious, open, and willing. The coaching process will guide you to know the answers from within.

Through Life Coaching, you will learn how to become more self-aware and mindful. You will develop the ability to work with your thoughts, emotions, and feelings, which will empower you to make more positive and healthy choices. These changes will improve your perception, and as a result, you will experience self-care, self-acceptance, and feelings of being at home in your skin.

Coaching helps you to prioritize what is truly important and provides you with tools to help you keep your goals in sight. When challenges do appear, and they will, your life coach helps you to shift your focus from reacting to your problems to responding from a place of expanded awareness. This significant shift in your paradigm increases your capacity to see more opportunities and provides you with more clarity, inspiration, and resolve.
