Does Life Coaching Work?
I ran across this set of statics (below) and thought that it was a good time to write about the benefits of life coaching. First, let me say that I think statics are generally flawed. Rarely is there enough data to provide an accurate account. In this case, however, I feel pretty confident in my own experience as a Life Coach and as one who has benefited from the Life Coaching process to state that these numbers reflect what I have experienced through the Life Coaching process. Many of my clients have also enthusiastically shared similar sentiments. My clients have found life coaching is an effective and efficient way to change and achieve their goals. Life Coaching works, but like everything worthwhile in life – it requires your participation and taking action.
Boost Your Optimism
The first benefit of using a Life Coach is that life coaching helps boost your optimism levels. This is important because leaning toward a more optimistic mindset has been linked to flourishing. If you want to shift from surviving or “just getting by,” it is important to focus your time and energy on developing a more optimistic mindset. But let’s be honest, some things are easier said than done. Leaning toward optimism is especially difficult to do alone, especially when you are entrenched in your own survival mechanisms. Learning how to interrupt those downward spirals and lean towards hope again takes awareness, education, and lots of practice.
You Must Take Action
Hiring a Life Coach is not passive. Sure some information will seep in but believe me, you’ve got to take action in order to get the most bang for your buck. Taking action means you’ve got to do the work. Part of what you can expect from me as your life coach is that you will receive at least one manageable thing to practice after each session. Don’t worry, it isn’t like being in school. The exercises you will receive are a whole lot more rewarding. Plus, most, if not all, of the homework will relieve you from the mounting tension and pressure you have been feeling. Most feel this relief beginning in the first session. When we feel support and encouragement, we quickly relax into our natural state of well-being. Not only that, it only takes making a little progress to help you start to feel empowered again.
Accountability
Life Coaching works because it helps you to become more accountable. It saves time, and you get faster results, which also saves you money in the long run. Working with a Life Coach reduces stress and frustration and expands your ability to think outside the box and realize solutions. It provides you with new insights into yourself and increases your self-confidence.
Be Ready to Change
If you are ready to achieve your goals and be successful, create more happiness, discover your life purpose, decide upon or change your career or be more confident. I encourage you to give Life Coaching a try. A professional life coach will stand behind their process making the biggest risk your time and energy – not your money.
